A restorative yoga sequence typically involves only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Held for 5 minutes or more, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends.
Restorative yoga can be an excellent way to relieve stress and enjoy long, meditative stretches. Prepare yourself for deep relaxation. At the end of the session, your body feels open and refreshed.
During the mindfulness meditation, we learn how to pay attention to the breath as it goes in and out, and notice when the mind wanders from this task. Paying attention to our breath, we learn how to return to and remain in, the present moment, anchoring ourselves in the here and now, without judgement.
